New year, new us! Well, not really. Same us, new stories!
With all the success and excitement we had in 2024, we want to step things up a notch in 2025—in more ways than one. Our planned upcoming releases consist of the following titles:
- January 2025: Tooth and Nail (commercial release)
- March 2025: Wingman: College Craze and its prequel, Wingman: Rise of Chet
- June 2025: Memories of the Reaper and its prequel, Lady of Beasts
- July 2025: Semblance
We also have a couple of extra goodies that we’re keeping up our sleeves, but we’ll tell you about those in upcoming updates. Hint: there’s going to be lots of pictures in those books. Needless to say, there are plenty of stories coming down the pipe!
The Wingman titles will be released by our first author client, Chad Whybrew. So it’ll be our opportunity to flex our publishing and marketing muscles for another author. Similarly, our second author client, Butch Carver, will be releasing his standalone novel, Semblance, in late July. …You heard that right. We’ve got two great authors joining our team to help provide you with more stories across various genres. MW Press is growing!
And we, of course, will also be release a couple more books for our readers too. We can’t let everybody else show us up, can we? Which is why we have Memories of the Reaper and its prequel, Lady of Beasts coming out too, along with some picture books. Why those? Well, it has always been our plan to write and publish in as many genres as possible. And what better way to celebrate our first niece/granddaughter than with some picture books? Yeah, we thought it was a good idea too.
But aside from these more tangible benchmarks, our expectations are to grow in other areas of the business:
- Provide more consistent updates as to the state of MW Press
- Grow our reader base via the MW Press mailing list
- Create more marketing exposure for existing MW Press titles
- Enlarge the blog on the MW Press website
- Design new ads via green screens and costumes—yes, really
Considering you are on the mailing list, we shouldn’t have to explain this one to you. But if you want to include some more people to help us grow, well, we won’t complain. But really, the above list can be summarized into a single word: marketing. The more stories we publish, the more we realize that the difference between unsuccessful and successful publishing is the number of people who know about the book. We probably should’ve learned that lesson quicker, but we weren’t paying attention to the goal of publishing while we were publishing. That is, we couldn’t see the forest through the trees.
But there are more expectations we have for ourselves as well—to continue doing these things well:
- Growing our client/author/illustrator base as a publishing house
- Releasing quality books for our readers to enjoy
…That’s really it. At the end of the day, we want all our books to reach as many people as possible. While we want that number to be in the millions, what we are more so concerned with is ensuring the people who do read MW Press books really enjoy them. We took that approach with Drowned Sea and Crimson Ink, and for every single upcoming story, that attention to detail and quality will remain.
That’s our promise to you, so thank you for all your support. Literally, without you, we couldn’t do this. We appreciate you more than you know.
Best,
Tristan Miranda and Blaise Miranda
